The Grip
Problem:
Griping the club in the palm of the led hand, left hand for right handers or turning the led hand in sideways, fingers pointing back behind you.
Practice:
The Grip is the foundation of connecting the club and body properly. Think of the grip as your steering wheel. The grip is your only connection to the club and is the biggest influence on how the clubface reacts during the swing. A neutral grip allows the club to work as it was designed. Check your top hand as you take your grip, for right handers this is your left hand. You want to see two knuckles on the top hand when you look straight down at your grip. You also want to make sure the grip lays on the second pad of the index finger and across the top of other three fingers, never in the palm of your hands for either hand.
Another aid that will help get your hands on the grip where the palms are facing each other is pinch a golf tee between the thumb and forefinger of each hand before griping the club. After griping the club make sure the tee’s are over each other in a perfect line and you see two knuckles on the top hand with the V's, created by pinching the tee between the thumb and forefinger are pointing between the right ear, for right handers, and the right shoulder. You also want to make sure you maintain the two knuckles through out your swing,
